The Latest Developments In Hair Transplants

One of the first things we want to introduce is the laser hairline design tool which is available from Dr Cole's website. This tool makes designing a symmetrical hairline easy and quick. It works quite simply by projecting a laser beam onto the patients forehead which follows the curve of the patients skull to create a semi-circular hairline. The shape of the hairline can be altered by simply titlting the device backwards and forwards.

Once the desired hairline shape has been achieved the hair transplant surgeon can then draw the shape with a surgical marker just by following the laser marker.

Another new tool which is quickly gaining a lot of popularity among hair transplant surgeons is the Lion implanter. This is a tool for implanting hair follicles into the recipient area. The advantage is that they typically cause less trauma to the delicate follicles and better growth results.

The way thses work is that they have a hollow needle into which the follicle is introduced and then by depressing the plunger the implanter can make the recipient area incision and implant the follicle in the scalp in one movement.
